Hello Maker!

We are so glad that you have found us! We can not wait to see you here at the studio and see what you create! Here at Hammer and Stain NCHAS we believe that art should be fun and that everyone can create a beautiful piece that will add style and beauty to your home!

We make it easy and guide you through every step of the way! From color selection, to background techniques, to finishing suggestions we are here to help you discover your inner artist and go home with a fabulous piece that you will be proud to show off to your family and friends. We are more than just a DIY studio! We strive to be a place where you can come sit, relax and create in an environment that is inclusive, welcoming and friendly.

You can click on the Public Workshop tab to check out the workshops we are currently offering. We hold Open Paint hours every Wednesday from 11am to 5pm and the same time on Saturdays when we do not have a private party scheduled. You can pre-register for a time slot and project to make during Open Paint from our Project Gallery or simply walk into the studio and choose a project from our collection of ready to make projects. Our inventory and project offerings change frequently, so if you see something you love be sure to schedule a seat at a workshop or an Open Paint day and time. It may be a while before we offer that project again.

What We Are:

Hammer & Stain North Charleston is not just a DIY Studio, we are a hands-on, "Do It Together" workshop. We enable people of all ages and abilities to bring out and showcase their creativity in a fun no pressure environment! Our DIY Workshop Studio is located in Hanahan, SC and we are delighted to be in such a wonderful city and in an active engaging community! We are conveniently located just off of both I-526 and I-26 just outside the Tanner Plantation Community.



 

 

 

Frequently Asked Questions

Can I make more than 1 project at a workshop?

Because of time constraints and the nature of how our DIY workshops run, we limit each person to one project at a time during a scheduled workshop.  We are always adding more dates and workshop projects, please check back with us often to schedule!

Can I bring a friend if they are not working on a project?

Unfortunately, because of a limited amount of seating and fire code, we are unable to admit any person who has not reserved a spot in our workshop. 

What are the prices for a workshop?

Prices for each workshop are based on the type of workshop being offered. Typically, prices range in price from $40 to $75 depending on the options you choose.

Do I need to pick my project ahead of time?

Yes. Project selection and customization information for your project is required at the time of booking on our on-line registration form. Please be sure to double-check your spelling and information to ensure your project stencil (for wood workshops) and materials will be ready for you at the start of your workshop.

Do I need to pick my colors in advance?

No, we have a wide variety of paint colors and stains to choose from. When you arrive we will show you examples of different color palettes to help you decide which paints and stains will look the best in your home.

Do I need to be crafty or artsy to make a great project?

Definitely NOT! Our workshops provide guided instruction in a relaxed environment. Just bring your DIY attitude and a willingness to learn and you will create a project you will be proud of!
